TIMELESS DAY 13 : NEW SOLO MODE, ADDON AND AN EXCLUSIVE SURPRISE FOR ALL BACKERS
about 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 11, 2022 at 05:01:27 PM

Greeting Guardians!

today we present the final part of Timeless, the new Solo Mode!

It will allow you to start a game session using all Guardians as Bots to give you access to solitaire mode with Eclipse!

This change leads to a new version of the Bot board which now includes all 4 Guardians.

New Bot Guardians cards.

This new deck of cards changes the whole gameplay structure of the Solo Mode version. Bot Guardians cards will now allow you to place the Guardian referred to by the card on the game board. They can be managed as player-controlled Guardians.

Actions featured in Bot Guardians cards:

The actions a Bot Guardian can perform with these new cards exactly follow those of a player-controlled Guardian. The mode introduces some rules that simulate the decisions of the players: each Guardian will be able to move, set traps, obtain Alliances with the Citadels, remove dark contamination, summon the Ghost of the lake and activate all the paths that lead to victory.

Most of the actions (the most important and influential ones) were also done in the main version, but now the Guardian bot models will always be visible on the game board with better interaction.

The new Bot Attack cards allow you to have an opponent who simulates a fight as if he were a real player, so he can use sorcery, equipment, etc. This is described on the card that is selected each time a specific Bot Guardian enters a combat phase.

The closure of Timeless is with the expansion rulebook (translated into all the languages already confirmed) and the plastic inner tray that we remember is designed to contain the cards with the protective sleeves.

TIMELESS content list:

A quick summary of everything Timeless includes (commercial value 50 € / 60 $)

ADDON

The last addon we present is the protective sleeves for Timeless. The protective sleeves of Darkest Doom and Timeless are in greater number to allow you to also protect all the cards present in the expansions available as addons.

In Backerkit will be available a bundle that includes ALL the addons but we remember that they will also be available individually.

EXTRA GOAL:

This is our final gift to thank all of you for your support and enthusiasm for Darkest Doom.

Tomorrow at 5pm (Rome) you will find the Mystery Box unlocked on the page.

Thanks again for your support, we can't wait for you to play Darkest Doom.

TIMELESS DAY 12 ; Winged Beast and New Addon available
about 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 11, 2022 at 01:52:39 PM

Greetings Guardians!

Welcome back to Timeless!

Today we present the last part of the Shaman Clan alliance.

Winged Beast

The innate power flowing through the Shamans' Blood, which allows them to cast spells without the Log of Roses, comes from the Winged Beast with which every newborn of the Shaman Tribes is baptized. The newborn Deers are fed Blood that modifies the blood running through their veins, giving them these unique powers. Originally, the ritual was not created to gain the ability to manipulate magical force. Victor and his Tribe knew where the Winged Beast's lair was, but they had never desecrated it - actually, they used to defend it from strangers and unexpected events. They always cared for the strange creature, and one day the Beast went to Victor to thank him for the respect and protection they had shown her: she gave him her blood and would continue giving it to all newborns of the Tribe. When he realized the legacy she had given them, Victor promised the Beast they would never share this Gift with anyone else.

Now that she is no longer the most fearsome creature in Betel, the Winged Beast is ready to follow Victor in his desperate attempt to save Mosh. However, her help will be quite different from that of the Tribe Leader. Despite her primitive appearance, the Winged Beast is as capable as Victor or any other citizen of Betel. Though she was as sentient as the Shaman, her spirit was not, and the threat of the Darkness infuriated her. The Winged Beast had awakened from hibernation to destroy any creature standing in her way and in the way of those who wanted to help her.

She had a special gift for the Guardian who would trust her fury, one not even Victor knew about: the Bat Swarm Spell. This spell can attack a target at range. The Bat Swarm does not cause any physical damage but can steal whatever the victim is carrying, such as Coins of Destiny or Relics.

GAMEPLAY Winged Beast:

Helping the Winged Beast on her mission will make you an ally of the Shaman Tribes; the mechanics are the same as those of the other Legendary characters.

Once both quests are completed, the Winged Beast's mini is removed from play, the Legendary character card is flipped over to its B side and the Bat Swarm minis are placed on top of it. This new Equipment card allows the player to place the Bat Swarm in any Forest zone. During your turn, you may move the Bat Swarm up to 3 zones from its location to a zone occupied by another Guardian and steal one of that Guardian's Relics; you may keep the Relic if it is different from the ones you already have; otherwise, the Relic is discarded.

If the Guardian dies while helping the Winged Beast, the Winged Beast's mini and all related cards within the Encounters deck are permanently removed from this game session.

TIMELESS DAY 10 ; Victor, Tribe Leader and Addon Act I
about 2 years ago – Sun, Apr 10, 2022 at 07:06:01 PM

Greetings Guardians!

Today we will discover a new Faction that will try to prevail in the 9 days of Darkness!

Therefore, as icing, a first look at the first part of Addon UNEDITED (Not present in the Guardian Edition).

Victor, Tribe Leader

In his heart of hearts, Victor always knew his son Mosh would do anything to restore the Tribe's freedom, dignity and equality, which the Order had stripped from them. However, he never thought that Mosh would go as far as opening the Monolith's portal to the Black Lodge. As leader and mentor of the Shaman Tribes, Victor always kept a peaceful and diplomatic demeanor, even when his people were indisputably wronged. For the sake of his children, Mosh and Roana, and the children of all the other Shamans, he never crossed the line. The most important thing for him was the future of his Tribe. He had to set an example, or maybe he just had to keep redeeming himself for the sins he had committed long ago, before he was the Tribe Leader, before the Council of the Elders ever came to Betel.

Victor was a Necromancer Shaman and his past was filled with Shadows and Blood, which would now accompany him on his path from the Mountains all the way to the Monolith to save his son.

The Jar Prison he carries on his shoulders like a hunter's sack used to be a torture device: his ability to imprison Lost Souls allowed him to exterminate the people who lived in Betel before the Shaman Tribes were there. But the Souls he was letting out were transforming his inner self; he was losing himself, so he chose to bury the Jar Prison.

Now, however, he has run out of options and is ready to lose himself if it means bringing Mosh back. But, since he knows he will not make it without the Guardians' help, Victor will try to convince them any way he can, gifting the Necrototem to whoever will help him. This Shaman artifact allows Guardians to be reborn without losing their memories.

GAMEPLAY Victor, Shaman Tribes Leader:

Helping Victor on his mission will make you an ally of the Shaman Tribes; the mechanics are the same as the Order's Legendary characters, Basil and Frederick. Once both quests are completed, Victor's mini is removed from play, the Legendary character card is flipped over to its B side and the Necrototem minis are placed on top of it. This new Equipment card allows the player to place one Necrototem in their Blood Temple: this way, when reborn, the Guardian will keep any Relics they had, and they will be reborn at full Health even if the Blood Temple is fully contaminated by Dark Filaments.

If the Guardian dies while helping Victor, Victor's mini and all related cards within the Encounters deck are permanently removed from this game session.

Addon Act I

Let's take a look at these goodies!

The First Guardian

Let's discover the First Guardian the Order had! He is a character that reveals little, he has an unmistakable element around his neck, the Pendant of the Ancients: the Crimsonfate!

The whole story will be inside the box and in order not to spoil anything, you can read it later : ); his adventure in Betel will also be present in the Graphic Novel as for all the characters presented in Timeless.

As for all Guardians, this character will also have a unique special power that will allow a unique approach to the game but obviously, respecting the balance of Darkest Doom.

There will also be 24 new cards; 8 equipments - 8 Sorcery - 8 Traps. All with dedicated illustrations by Denis Medri.

Box Card Sleeves (430 )

This box contains all the sleeves you need for the Darkest Doom core box, plus an extra number in case you need it. The sleeves will be of premium quality. In the next few days, we will present the same version also for Timeless with a Bundle available in PM which includes both at a special price.

TIMELESS DAY 11 ; Shrine of Gifts Not Given and New Addon
about 2 years ago – Sun, Apr 10, 2022 at 07:05:01 PM

Greetings Guardians!

Welcome back to a new page of Timeless, today we are going to discover past rituals that come back to life!

Shrine of Gifts Not Given

The Energy generated by crossing from one Entry to the Black Lodge to another and the time manipulation used by Aion altered reality irreversibly. The "Shrines of Gifts Not Given" were a legend told in taverns that turned out to be true. Though sculpted from wood and iron, these Shrines had a soul. Those souls, tormented within underground webs of roots in the woods, were now emerging to give back their suffering. Whoever crossed the Entries to the Black Lodge would have to pay tribute to the Shrine. The "Gifts Not Given" were a price not many could afford to pay usually, only those who were cursed and traveled between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead could afford to offer something to the Shrine. Nothing satisfies the lost souls' thirst like a White Moth, which are the only way to please the Shrine. Those who cannot pay this offering will suffer the consequences by feeling the same pain and anguish of the Shrines' souls.

GAMEPLAY Shrine of Gifts Not Given:

At the start of the game, the Event Tokens are placed in the Darkest Doom table (as is the case for Eclipse). When the Event Tokens are unlocked on the Darkest Doom track, and the Shrines on the B side are revealed, all 4 are placed on Entries to the Black Lodge. Whenever a Guardian enters one of these zones, they must present a White Moth as an offering; if they do, they draw from the "Shrine of Gifts Not Given" deck and gain the Hags' Blessing. On the other hand, if a player who passes through the Black Lodge and the Shrine but does not donate a white moth, he gets a curse: the curse lasts for 2 Twilight phases. The "Shrine of Gifts Not Given" cards are considered Equipment cards, and it is mandatory to place them only if the player was cursed. Each card shows two opposite sections; the card must be placed with the non-reversed text in the top half to indicate whether a Blessing or a Curse is active.

Having White Moths in the base game is always a penalty, but now the Shrine allows players to remove Moths and gain bonuses. Whenever a Shrine grants a card, that Shrine is removed from play and can be placed again if a specific Event Token is drawn.

Considerations: "Shrine of Gifts Not Given" allows you to have a different approach to the game. A white moth is a penalty that is always obtained at each death, this is not a constant problem during the game, because there are many ways to remove the white moth but having an opportunity to receive a bonus if you have this curse, allows you to have a more aggressive attitude in terms of gameplay. The blessings you will get will not be OPs, but it is a nice way to give a new interpretation to each of your rebirths.

NEW ADDON AVAILABLE!

We remind you that all addons can be added to your order after the Kickstarter campaign. Please read the FAQ for more details.

Mayura and the Order’s Specialists

The Council of Elders unleashes the ultimate weapon at their disposal in a desperate bid to regain control of the region that was so recently in their power, Betel.

The multiple interlaced challenges brought forth by the first collective threat posed by the Darkness cornered the Council of Elders and pushed them to rely on their trump card: Mayura and the Order’s Specialists. The flying primordial Mayura had been, till that day, no more than an ancient legend: hidden away from the people of Betel, all had heard its name but none save the Council members or the Specialists had seen it before.

Just as none had ever seen the Specialists themselves; or, at least, none had survived to tell the tale.

The Specialists are a secret organization, unknown even to the Guardians, that has worked for the Council for decades.

The Alchemist, Ritualist and Fanatic form the Specialists of the Order and will serve any Guardian.

Mayura Gameplay

When Mayura is placed on the board at the start of the game, draw a Quest card  to discover in which zone to place the mini, then discard that card. At the start of every Dawn phase, move Mayura to a different zone by drawing another Quest card.

All players within 3 zones of Mayura can call upon it by paying one Relic of the Ancients and moving its mini to a zone adjacent to theirs. The caller can then draw one card from the Order’s Specialists deck (+1 card for each allied Citadel). An Order’s Specialists card is considered equipment and may be played for free; when placed in the equipment slot, it should be positioned on the miniature of the Specialist it is associated with. This equipment has 2 decay points, which indicate how many times it can be used before breaking.

Attacking Mayura.

If Mayura is attacked, draw an Order’s Specialists card, which will indicate the statistics of the mini in its lower section. It also indicates which type of challenge to use, if a battle or a trap check . In the latter case, the situation resolves as a trap check with difficulty level 5.

If Mayura is defeated, do not remove its model: this legendary creature is immortal. However, Mayura will grant its Respect to the Guardian who defeated it, offering them a special gift.

Mayura’s Respect card. This card has two different effects, one per side. Side A describes a gift granted to who defeated Mayura in battle, while side B describes the gift obtained by passing a trap check. Mayura’s Respect card is considered an equipment with non-limited uses.

Mayura’s mini can always move 4 zones.

Mayura's Respect Card :

Side A effect: during a Dawn phase, you can order Mayura to attack a Guardian.

Side B effect: during a Nightfall phase, you can order Mayura to attack a Lightless.

Gameplay Order’s Specialists

All the Specialists are activated in the same way; let’s see how.

The Specialists can be activated when an adversary is within 3 zones of the player who controls them. When doing so, move their mini from the card to the zone occupied by the opponent, who must then pass a trap check. If this check fails, the opponent receives a debuff token of the type associated with the appropriate Specialist: it will activate upon their next rebirth. Last, the player who activated the Specialist successfully obtains 3 Daily Fame.

Specialists’ debuffs:

Alchemist: Explosive Potion token (upon rebirth, the player cannot gain more than 2 Health)

Fanatic: Darkness’ Contempt  token (upon rebirth, the player obtains two Dark Contamination cards)

Ritualist: Censer token (upon rebirth, the player loses one random equipment)

CONSIDERATIONS: "Mayura and the Order's Specialists" is a set to be used without Timeless when facing the first games, later it can also be added to Timeless. The gameplay of this set allows you to face Mayura to receive her Special Card but also to interact with other players in a different way, causing a malus that will be activated indirectly. In the course of the game, it could be a strategy that will lead you to gain advantages. The flow of the game is not affected and this expansion gives new opportunities inserted naturally and without unbalancing the game.

Challenging Mayura might be one of the most fun things to do as an extra activity.

Tomorrow we will go to meet the second Ally of the Shaman Clan

 what do you expect?

Thanks for support

TIMELESS DAY 9 ; NEW GUARDIAN - Lena the Lynx
about 2 years ago – Sun, Apr 10, 2022 at 09:43:45 AM

Greetings Guardians,

Today is the day of the new Guardian!

Guardian Lena, Lynx

Castor's rebirth, his total lack of memory, and how he called out for help shook Lena more than the other Guardians. So, on the day of their return to the Council of the Elders to confirm that Mosh was no longer a threat, Lena refused to leave. She was not willing to continue risking her own life, since she knew death would never come but her memories would die in her place.

Lena was a bard, so more than anyone, she knew how important it was to have memories to turn into songs. Her music had great power: it caused people to reminisce and dream of a new future, making them both nostalgic and hopeful.

The other Guardians said nothing when she was done talking. They knew how high the price was for her. She knew Mosh needed to be restrained. The Blood Sigil was the only way to do so; if not, Betel's destiny would be riddled with turmoil and calamity, chaos and destruction.

But chaos and destruction had come to Betel all the same, and now Lena must accept that she may well lose twice.

To someone like her, master of the Art of Melody, the art of losing was not hard to learn. Every day we lose something, and we must accept the loss of items, the wasting of time.

"The art of losing isn't hard to learn," she would tell herself.

"I will practice loss again and again, learning to accept that the loss of places, names and destinations to visit won't cause more damage than the loss of the land where everything, joy and pain, was transformed into melody. Betel is worth more than any lost memory and any rebirth. Betel is the reason why I had those memories in the first place, and this is enough for me to be willing to lose it all, to lose twice."

SPECIAL ABILITY: During the battle, if you spend 1 action point you may move 2 zones and your opponent suffers 1  harm. You may use this special ability every time you have 1 action point to spend.

Gameplay: Lena is a formidable Guardian when it comes to avoiding defeat in battle; her special ability makes her a dangerous adversary who seems impossible to corner. However, she must always have at least 1 action point, even during the other players' turns, to take advantage of her power.

The new Citadel Supplies cards will not just be additional Equipment, Spells and Traps but will allow players to explore new gameplay mechanics. These new rules will not make the game any less smooth and are not overly complicated: they guarantee the same fluid play as the base game but add variety. As usual, the incredible Denis Medri will create the artwork for these new cards.

The Quest Banner minis are upgrades of the tokens. This aesthetic change is intended to make them easier to locate on the board while still being practical and non-invasive.

Which path will you take Lena to walk?

Will you be good at exploiting her special ability?

In the next few days, we will discover ancient rituals, alliances, new modes for the Solo Game, Legendary Creatures and...

Thanks for the support!!
